What the Hippodrom Tent lacks in size, it makes up for in atmosphere. The Hippodrom is one of the smallest tents on the Wies'n, but not the newest. It celebrates it's 109th year in 2011! This tent is very popular with the young international crowd but caters as well to the local Bavarians. Many men and women wear the classic Trachten or traditional Bavarian outfits in this tent. Up and until 1987, visitors were able to see and ride live horses inside the tent. Hence the name Hippodrom, which means "An arena for equestrian performances."

| This year will also find the Beautiful Eva Grünbauer doing a nightly broadcast called "Eva`s Wiesn-Welt" from the tent at 8PM local. The show can be found in Germany on Sat 1 Comedy. Eva has a long history of broadcasting from the Oktoberfest and interviews stars and celebtrities from German culture.

| Total capacity at the Hippodrom is 4200 persons, with 1000 of those "außen" or at outside Biergarten tables. With only 3200 seats inside, this tent is by far one of the coziest. The Bavarian word "Gemütlichkeit" must have been coined here! |
